Conference-Room Based VideoConferencing (Tandberg)

This service is located in the IT Conference Room (Crawford Room 328).  This room seats up to 8 people and must be reserved through the IT Administrative Office (321-674-7999).

A connection test with the remote location should be performed prior to the formal conference, to work out any technical problems.

Technical Information

This videoconference system supports IP and ISDN connection methods.

ISDN: This videoconference system allows for data rates up to 256 kilobytes per second.  Note that per-minute toll charges accrue for long distance calls.

IP: Internet-based videoconferencing; this videoconference system allows connection data rates at 256, 384, 512 and 768 kilobytes per second.  Remote locations accessible via Internet2 or FLR/NLR typically use 512 or 768 kbps; remote locations connected via commodity Internet traffic typically require 256 or 384 kbps.  Note that no per-minute charges accrue for calls.

The videoconference system used in this room is a Tandberg 550 MXP.
