  • 07/18/2008: Protecting Your Account Information

    Campus Community,

There are many fraudulent emails circulating the internet that attempt to persuade you to reveal sensitive account information such as passwords. The Florida Institute of Technology, along with any legitimate business will NEVER ask a user to reveal their account details over email. The Florida Institute of Technology will also NEVER need an individual to reveal their password, so please do not disclose your password to anyone – even if you think the individual works for one of the Technical Support departments on campus. Furthermore, it is a violation of the Florida Institute of Technology’s policies to share your account password with other individuals - including coworkers - so be sure you do not share your account with others.

If you receive an email requesting sensitive information, please forward the email message to security@fit.edu. The office of Information Security will use the information contained in the email to identify its source, and notify the account holder’s internet service provider.
