Exchange
Email
This section is intended for users who are on the exchange
email system that provides group calendaring features to many of the administrative
users. If you are not using this service, please read the instructions
for setting up general email.
Basic Setup Information:
The exchange server's address is fitex.fit.edu. This
is the only information you will need for setting up Outlook to use the
exchange server. Detailed Setup Instructions can be found below.
Remote Access:
There are two remote access options available
1. Check your mail using a web browser
2. Configure an Outlook client for home use

- Go to https://webmail.it.fit.edu/
- Use your TRACKS username and password to log in.

Detailed Outlook Setup Information
This section outlines the steps necessary to setup outlook
for use with Exchange. Outlook 2003 and Outlook XP (2002) are the only
approved clients for connecting to the campus Exchange servers.
Forwarding Your
Exchange Email and Vacation Messages
Exchange users can forward email and set vacation messages
from within outlook.
To forward your email and to turn on a vacation message:
- From the Tools Menu, choose the Out of Office menu
item.
- Select the "I am Currently Out of the Office"
button.
- If you want a vacation message to be automatically
sent to each message received, type a message in the field labeled "autoreply
only once..." If you just want to forward your mail, leave this
field blank.
- To forward your mail to another account, click the
Add Rule button.
- Skip down to the perform these actions section.
- Check the box marked delete unless you want to leave
a copy of each message on the Exchange server as well as the address
you are forwarding to.
- Check the box marked forward and type the address
you want to forward mail to in the field next to the To button.
