PAWS (Panther Access Web System)

Changes to PAWS Login

Starting May 16th, 2007, PAWS will no longer be accessible using a Florida Tech ID number and PIN. Instead, access will be provided through the TRACKS username and password. This change affects all faculty, student, and staff that use PAWS. This includes Web Time Entry, faculty advising and grading functions, and all student services available through PAWS.

Students Graduating in the Spring 2006 term:

Your TRACKS username will change. The year you first attended classes will be added to the end of your current TRACKS username. This will occur during the semester after you graduate.

For example, a senior, Pete Panther who started taking classes in 2003, and who graduates in Spring 2007, will have his account changed from ppanther to ppanther2003.

Note: Students who are no longer enrolled in the university will have their account converted to a limited access account during the following Fall or Spring semester. This means that there will be no access to the U-drive or email after the conversion.

Alumni and Students who have previously attended Florida Tech:

Individuals who previously attended Florida Tech and who require access to PAWS will have to create an Alumni/Attended TRACKS account. Beginning May 16th, individuals who know their Florida Tech ID number and PIN will be able to create an account by visiting http://fit.edu/paws and clicking “Create Alumni/Attended TRACKS Account”.

Note: Alumni/Attended accounts are limited access accounts, providing access to PAWS and additional services in the future. Alumni/Attended accounts do not have email, U-drive, or computer login ability.

Lost or Forgotten Passwords:

Due to the sensitive nature of the information stored in PAWS and TRACKS, individuals will need to contact the Technology Support Center to reset their TRACKS passwords if lost or forgotten. The office may be reached at (321) 674-7284 or http://www.it.fit.edu/support/.

Account Lockout Requirements

A TRACKS password will expire after 120 days. When it expires the password will have to be changed. TRACKS accounts will be locked for 10 minutes after 10 invalid login attempts.
